Oops! I Did It Again!

Oh, am I behind on my blog and on reading everyone else's! Over the Christmas holidays all routine was shot to heck. Kids home. Husband home. Slowly things are returning to normal. For the most part I like normal. A need for routine must be the ADD talking.

Waaaay back in November I cursed, swore and loudly proclaimed that I would NEVER knit with Noro Kureyon again. When the socks were finally finished I heaved a great sigh of relief and tried to put the experience behind me.

Then I started wearing them. Everytime I looked down and saw them peaking out from my jeans it gave me a little thrill. They were just so cool! I even forgave the orange.

So what did I do yesterday? See for yourself....

Somehow I just know that I am going to regret this purchase. But the colours were calling to me.

Meanwhile, I have another pair of socks off the needles. These are Online Supersocke Cotton, colourway 946. These are the first pair of socks that I have made using a cotton blend.

The bitterly cold weather that we have had since December is still not letting up very much. It has been slightly warmer, but I am really ready to get a break from it. Between the frigid temps and the short days it is getting to be a bit much. The kids left for school about 8:40 this morning and as I went back into my office and looked out the window the lightening sky it was tinged with lovely shades of blue and pink. It made a nice change from grey, slate and sludge coloured.

Dear Darcie,

I must share the same ADD DNA (tee hee). I crave the ordinary order too.
I think I love Christmas. But it overwhelms me.
I love the mauve and blue sock yarn in your photo.
I will send you the blue and mauve yo-yo shawl to wear with the socks.

Much love,
Granny Nanny

You know that sky almost mirrors your new yarn...

I *love* those Noro socks. I have a ball of Noro in my stash right now. I don't know when I'll get to it, but now I'm dying for that same colorway you have! :-)

Ohmigosh! The socks are cool and the colours in the new Noro are gorgeous!

I must admit to feeling the same way about Noro - can't stand it, but it's just so darn pretty!

Hmmmm, I'm going to learn socks this year (20 years and I've not knitted 1 LOL) if they click with me, I just might have to get some. Is it soft?

Darcie, I have some noro sock yarn and have been hesitant. Does it really get soft? The socks turned out beautiful.

The Noro softened up quite a bit after washing. I also used a generous dollop of hair conditioner.

My feet must have no nerve endings in them. Once a sock is on my foot I tend not to feel them anymore.
